There isn’t a problem with declining birthrate until our world isn’t overpopulated anymore, if anything declining birth rate is props good for a few years the exponential growth is high key killing our planet and our selves

Eh true the overpopulated part is debatable and more of a “governments aren’t taking care of the people” and like population density mismanagement, some places are severely underpopulated some are wildly overpopulated but whateverrr u get the point

There is absolutely little to no evidence that overpopulation is real. Overconsumption is the real issue. Many studies have shown that the population will soon plateau, and maybe even fall. If we lived sustainably, the current effects of our population would almost certainly decrease. Our large population and the detrimental effects on the world are an issue of correlation vs causation.

That acrually makes sense fs, if we actually fucking used renewable energy (I hate my government) we’d probs be fine, and if we platue it wouldn’t take up more space. I feel like our affects on the world are impacted by population it’s just we could also remove those affects if we were smart enough as a whole. Is there a word for like, more than correlation but not direct causation? Like population obviously contributes to our affect by a degree, but by changing mannerisms we could reduce impact

One problem with the decline is social security at least in the US More people are pulling from it bc the baby boomer generation is retiring but new generations aren’t as big and consequently aren’t contributing as much as previous ones to social security now so future retiring generations aren’t going to be able to rely on it as much 🫠🫠 But I don’t want kids so what can I do about it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
