What’s the experience like to go to a bar alone as a woman/fem presenting person? I want to get out of my apartment and socialize but I’m worried about my safety

i suffered from a lot of anxiety at first but if you go to queer friendly bars when they host events and bring your own drinks it’s fun! stay safe and let yourself relax!

The atmosphere at gay bars is typically better. Sometimes for women especially you can get comments from couples looking for a third but other than that they are good

You still ABSOLUTELY have to be careful at a gay bar. My old local club has someone who has “allegedly” drugged multiple people (he has never been actually caught in the act so the owner wont ban him). If you are fem presenting, you might feel unwelcome at a gay/queer bar, even if it doesn’t specify gay MALE bar. Be careful, but give it a try maybe?

That’s why I said typically more safe. There are like 36 lesbian bars and I don’t live by any of them so I go to gay bars, and I have never felt unwelcome in a gay bar, as a lesbian

Oh interesting do gay bars usually cater to queer men specifically?
