This also paints gay men as wholly misogynistic. Obviously there are plenty of grossly misogynistic gay men, but the actions of misogynistic straight men shouldn’t be cast onto gay men as a whole. It’s basically saying being a gay man makes you inherently misogynistic

as a lesbian it makes me so mad when straight women do this type of stuff because they use homophobia/transphobia to fight misogyny which demonizes lgbtq people. whole time it’s straight men vs straight women and gay people ALWAYS catch a stray. this is why i tell gay men that straight women are NOT automatically your ally. we need more to promote more gay/lesbian friendships.

I get the point, it’s def like using gay as an insult. But at the same time it’s like these men hate women so much how can they even like us like that. But also that’s not the reality of men, they’ll hate women with everything they’ve got but still want to fck.

It’s just like the “every homophobe is secretly gay” thing. No, they’re not. The vast majority of misogynistic and/or homophobic men are straight. They’re not secretly gay, they just hate women. Making gay men out to be the problem is just homophobia. Yes, there are misogynistic gay men and they suck. But they’re not the majority by any means
