If you want to go on HRT, it’ll be the best decision you’ll ever make. I was in your shoes once, it gets better :)

How did you go about doing that?

Depending on what state you’re in, you could go to a planned parenthood in your area and they’ll help you get set up. That’s how I started, they were very helpful. Or you could talk to your regular doctor. Again, it varies by state.

Personally though I was out for a while (I want to say 7/8 months?) without hormones. It helped me feel more confident in taking them when I was ready. Now I’ve been on T for 5 years and never looked back :)

I called planned parenthood and said I wanted hormone therapy (also got a letter from my therapist first but was told I ultimately didn’t need it as the PP is an informed consent clinic). Went in 3ish weeks later at my appointment time and talked to the doctor. She was incredibly kind and I got prescribed estrogen and spironolactone (testosterone blocking medicine)

Hooray for planned parenthood! I get my HRT straight from my general practitioner now, but planned parenthood was a life saver when I first came out, they made the whole thing so much less intimidating.

Oh yes same here, I switched to my general practitioner too and I get my prescription through them now. I was nervous to tell my doctor but thankfully they’re very supportive
