Btw it’s homophobic to say that a man is gay just because he’s a terrible person or terrible to women. Just fyi.

It reminds me of the horrible trope of “all homophobic/misogynistic/bigoted men are secretly gay.” It’s horrible. Being gay does not automatically make you a misogynist, nor are we gay people secretly oppressing ourselves. It’s just an excuse to be homophobic

associating being gay w/ being disrespectful to women or being a terrible person

basically implying men treat women worse because theyre gay, or that being gay makes you a bad person

is that it tho bc i thought the logic was more that it’s counterintuitive for a man to be bigoted towards women if he wants to date them

see that is logical right and you would think so but it does not reflect reality. there are plenty of misogynistic men who are attracted to women, yet don’t respect them

there are men who treat women more like they're sex toys than people. there's no respect, no consideration of their humanity. they treat women like theyre nothing more than a warm body to fuck. in their brains anyone woman theyre attracted to is an object, and any woman they aren't attracted to is a useless object.

dating is a means to an end for those guys; they want someone who can fulfill their sexual desires + physical and emotional needs (housework, cooking, cleaning, medical care, you name it) without having to give anything in return. even if they dont consciously view them as objects, the part of their brain that activates when interacting with people doesn't activate or has reduced activity around women they're attracted to.

no guys i know that lol the question is if the logic (which is wrong) behind calling straight men gay for being misogynistic is that they must not be attracted to them if he’s bigoted towards them which is dumb and wrong on its own but then where does the homophobia become a factor in that logic

I think it may be more on the side of men being DL and unhappy not living in their truth so they are taking their frustration out on the women they are forcing themselves to be with. But that’s not always the case
