this gotta be one of the most dense thread of people istfg. concept? sure, it’s funny. real world application? there are aREAL WORLD PEOPLE who ALREADY USE the term ‘male’ to demean trans women. it’s not a crime to point out this fact and how this would ultimately bring more harm to women.

so trans women weren’t brought up by me nor the target of this post. i’m not saying that it doesn’t happen but it’s very obvious what the intention of this post was. some of you are acting very “so you hate waffles” rn 😭😭😭 and nothing is gonna stop me from calling males who say female instead of woman a male hope this helps!!!

I feel like if it’s shitty when men call women females it’s also not great to do it back. Also I’ll be so fr as a trans person I mainly see conservatives and transphobes putting such a strong importance on sex, and calling people males and females. If I heard this irl I’d stay away

boo me why? I'm not sure what would be controversial about what I said. From what I have seen, what you described literally is a way that TERFs use that language.

are you a male that calls women females?? if so, boo you 👎👎👎

why would you ask me that based on what I have said here? no. I don’t do that. because it is wrong to reduce people to/ dehumanize people on the basis of the sex they were assigned at birth.

tell that to the misogynists that reduce women to being “females” instead of being offended over someone clapping back with the same energy.

Yes, that is literally the problem. that’s why I don’t use “females”. Because it is dehumanizing. I don’t know how you could interpret what I said any other way.

I’m also not a man? idk what you want from me? unless you just ARE a TERF and I’m wasting my time talking to you.

I need to rephrase: dehumanizing people is bad. No matter who is doing it. I care more about developing coherent critiques of men and patriarchy than I do about “clapping back” with dehumanizing language that is used to hurt my trans sisters.

girl bye. it’s not used to hurt anybody trans. it’s literally giving misogynists, specifically misogynistic men, a taste of their own medicine.

I literally told you. Because what you are describing is reducing people to the sex they were assigned at birth and attempting to dehumanize them on the basis of that ascribed sex. Which is ostensibly why you would take issue with someone using the word “females”. There is nothing liberatory about this. It is embarrassing that people like you claim to be feminists.

i think the only issue is that you’re assuming i’m talking about trans women when i say males 🤨🤨🤨 i love that you’re a thinker, let’s just start thinking about the right things, okay 🥹🥹

male and female are terms that describe sex. not gender. gender =/= sex. To call someone by “male” or “female” is to deny them the nuance and humanity of gender and reduce them to their sex- the physical characteristics of their body as described by a doctor (the imposed sex binary is a flawed system in itself).

Firstly, the post is just supposed to be funny. Secondly trans women are not male.. nobody should be calling trans women male. OP is calling men male in this joke, and trans women are neither men nor male.

girl we were just pointing it out, no one said you meant it maliciously/intentionally. you didn’t bring up trans women bc u didn’t realize how they might be affected, so someone gently brought it up to u. your reaction is more telling tbh.
