You’re very correct. However, my health insurance barely covers anything in my new state (MN, so not the safest blue state rn) and all my doctors (~8) are here. It sucks that everyone but white cis het-passing people need to be scared for their *lives* right now. I applaud you for taking that leap and moving away, it can be a hard decision.
Why do you have to move permanently? Why can’t you move for a few years and if things improve in your home state move back? I’d move to where laws protect you, and if you’re moving to your college town you’re at least somewhat comfortable. I’m not sure how to help on the insurance aspect though.
You make a good point with that. The logistics would need to be worked out with things like, as you mentioned, insurance. I’ll keep this option in mind. I just always wanted to either move to a state and then stay there long-term (like years/decades), or stay in WI, so my thought process was stay or go.
