bonobos use sex as a form of socialization rather than just a way to reproduce, and sometimes they'll use sex rather than fighting as a way to solve disputes. but they also use it to strengthen social bonds with each other. also male on male and female on female sex is very common for bonobos

Honestly that’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard. Entire species of animals have figured out “sex can be for fun” and “gay sex is cool and chill” meanwhile humans are still losing their shit about gay handholding😭
