I feel as a generation we’ve started using the word trauma too loosely. Especially in the queer community. Getting your feelings hurt is not trauma (in most cases).

I fully agree but also feel like a hypocrite. I made trauma/ptsd jokes but I have diagnosed actual PTSD. Maybe it’s a coping mechanism or maybe I should stop

Ya I don’t really know how to describe the jokes but for example I was in an ice sports accident and almost (technically did) die so if something small happens where I slip on ice I’ll be like “that was traumatic” or “the memories!” It’s not completely random jokes but still. Idk I don’t really make them a ton anymore so maybe it was part of coping?
