Why does dressing formally make me so dysphoric?

i get this too and its because i’m nb and formal clothes are meant to strictly be gendered. the way suits are made is meant to achieve a “masculine” silhouette and the same thing with dresses and fem silhouettes. i personally don’t find the suit top/skirt bottom combos flattering on me either so that doesnt help, plus combining them doesnt negate the fact that both pieces are both still very gendered. i wish different silhouettes were accepted as formal

no this 😭 it doesn’t help that suits don’t fit me right. my hips are way too wide

Literally. Like I even wear stuff that aligns with my gender identity. I’m a trans man and when I wear suits I almost feel worse because I feel like everything that I’m usually dysphoric about just seems so much more obvious and makes suits and similar stuff look awkward and wrong on me.

i get this sm. when i wear a suit i feel like an imposter somehow. i feel like everyone can tell and just see me as a rebellious girl in men’s clothes
