Hot take maybe idk but I think the whole femboy fetishization thing/joke from straight men is just misogyny/sexism/homophobia directed onto someone else but packaged in such a way to look lighthearted

it’s the same as when straight guys act gay with each other, i think you’re totally right

straight men love fetishizing people whose identities they don’t see as valid/people they don’t see as people

I mean, kind of? I would personally say it’s often also the other way around, with the homophobia coming out because they find something hot and think that it’s wrong, and because they refuse to explore it in a healthy way it just turns into fetishization. I don’t think they people routinely “jokingly” fetishizing people are doing it purely because they’re homophobic

Exactly. I think it’s gross. I think a lot of ppl think homophobia/transphobia etc. is just ppl hating us or being scared of us or seeing us as a joke. But so few people see the part where a lot of these men who publicly identify as straight objectify/fetishize us and sort of just see us as just some “toy” or means to get them off. And I feel like ppl just see that and laugh like it’s funny. And it’s especially visible when the guy perpetrating is more masc and is then given more respect

And I’ve seen this happen with simple jokes that flip the script where the “femboy” is topping the masc guy and the comments are like “shouldn’t it be the other way around”. It challenges ideas they’ve held and suddenly the joke isn’t funny

Yeahhh it’s something that’s hard to come to terms with and accept as a fact that they will always see us this way to some degree
