do you understand that asexuality and lesbianism are two different things? asexuality is inherently a spectrum. lesbianism has a definition. if you don’t fit the definition- you’re not a lesbian. this is a dumb argument. again- we are regressing.

who makes the definition? what is the definition? when i look it up it says women or nb people attracted PRIMARILY to women or nb people, i just don't understand why its fine for asexuality to be a spectrum but its not fine for lesbianism to have elements of spectrum to it as well

like is someone who discovers they're attracted to women later in life after having been only with men, but is only with women going forward? what about someone who only has sex with men in threesomes with their female partner? what about someone who is with a partner who transitions and identifies as a man but still considers the relationship lesbian? are they not allowed to be lesbians because the definition is you only ever fuck women?

i watched it but i still don't totally understand... was someone calling another person a purist? what would the comparison "bioessentialist bullshit" be for aces vs lesbians? sorry i'm not trying to like be snarky i'm genuinely just a little lost but i want to understand ur point

The bioessentialism comes from the idea that women are hard wired to be attracted to men biologically, which is why its gross that one guest calls “fucking a man a year” just a“reproductive thing” brought on by ovulation, of course asexuals face some levels of this bs too but from drs, ive heard of drs worrying about a patient’s hormone levels when they self report as asexual, going off of old medicine that labels it as a disorder

The difference is those drs aren’t usually people within the community which is why this really hurts to hear
