OOP here: I have bowel cancer. Reminder to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS talk to a doctor if you have chronic GI issues, especially things like nausea/vomiting, unintentional weight loss, diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc. It’s not always cancer, but it can be!

Happy pride month gang in honor of being a gay man I have vowed myself to explore new depths of my body this pride month. My colonoscopy is scheduled for tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I’m so sorry man :( I’m glad you went to the doctor, and I hope treatment goes well and isn’t too rough on you.

I’m so sorry man :( I hope everything goes okay. Sharing a little funny thing of mine to hopefully bring you some joy. I (another trans guy) had to have a colonoscopy a few years ago and I got it on 9/11😭

I wish it was easier for women to get checked for issues like this but everything is always blamed on our menstruals

I’m a trans guy, trust when I say I’m familiar. A lot of my symptoms were blamed on my period (that I don’t have anymore) or my mental health. I wish it was easier to get doctors to listen and believe people, but unfortunately the only way to discover things like this is to just keep fighting through the medical system.

It appears so. Still waiting on some labs but it seems to be localized to one area of my bowel

Please do. I had a lot of those symptoms (not all), and while they don’t necessarily mean you have cancer, it can certainly be indicative of another issue. Colonoscopies suck but can be so so helpful for figuring out GI problems
