primarily I was being a dick to OP because unnecessary self-censorship alarms me to see, and it’s all the more exasperating in this instance because pretty much all currently-relevant forms of satanism encourage a spirit of rebellion & challenging authority compulsive censorship on platforms like youtube and instagram is about capitalism—making sure user-generated content is “marketer-friendly” so as to not interfere with corporate profit margins. choosing to self-censor on platforms where-

-that isn’t actually required = more or less a demonstration of being brainwashed by capitalist forces. letting the language that you use be broadly dictated by major platforms’ profit motives is unspeakably dystopian. not being dramatic when I say it alarms me and I’m no longer a satanist myself, but as someone who’s familiar with the prominent contemporary sects, I feel qualified to make jeers along the lines of “hey stranger, that sure wasn’t very satanic of you, now was it” when relevant

additionally, I think ICE is a clear demonstration of the issue with that “strive to tolerate everyone” mentality, because wanting the best for ICE agents necessarily also means accepting the worst for your neighbors (especially those who’ve migrated from other countries). there’s no way to truly “embrace everyone”, as long as fascistic bigots exist then there unavoidably arises the question of who’s actually being prioritized by thought-terminating peaceful platitudes.
