“Rights” under capitalism are temporary protections that only function as long as you’re allowed in the in group, don’t forget that it took until 2015 for the bare minimum of gay marriage to be legal federally and that was through the supreme court

My problem with communism personally is that it creates no incentive. With Capitalism, we need doctors and they are very important, so they get paid more, than say a fast food worker. However, if everyone gets paid the same, there’s no point in going to school longer or working for more demanding jobs. In theory, if everyone worked hard regardless communism would work, but that’s not how society is. Although, both allow a great amount of corruption unfortunately.

Capitalism being useless and inherently corrupt doesn’t mean Communism is the right solution either.

Communists killed gays every time they come into power. I’d rather be sold out and be able to repurchase my security than considered unworthy by the state with no recourse.

Also this meme is incorrect about the causes of the housing crisis. A developer has no benefit in an unsold house. They’re unsold because nobody wants them in disrepair or in rural isolation. Building more housing where people want to live is the only solution.

Or, maybe forcibly redistribute wealth from billionaires to the working class via social safety nets and a government that actually stands for its working citizens (which could be considered the transitionary state between capitalism and communism, but I know you don’t know much about that (or communism itself) as you’re talking about “communists killed gays every time they came into power” I wonder how many of our community had died under capitalist exploitation and oppression, but go off?

Back to my original point, redistribution of wealth via the gov: a government accurately using taxes for this purpose could develop new cities with proper infrastructure, while expanding existing cities and upgrading them to accommodate for the unhoused population. The issue is that housing is locked behind a market, and that any attempt to solve the issue of homelessness comes with an inherent impact to the prices for the average home owner - hence it’s met with resistance from homeowners, and

We automatically are unable to engage with the *one* method that materially solves the issue at its core: providing houses to those in need.

Agreed, Communism also has a huge list of flaws, i don’t know why you’re getting so downvoted

Idk why either. I’m against capitalism, but that still doesn’t make communism a good system. It’s so easy for corruption to thrive in both

I mean, how do we truly know? Communism has only really ever been tried within a capitalist society, and has always been interfered with by capitalist nations. It’s hard, atleast personally, to condemn communism when there isn’t an isolated control group to pull from. Similar to how we can’t accurately measure microplastic contamination in humans, due to the lack of access to a control group that isn’t contaminated.

There is incentive in communism, it’s bettering your community and yourself by extension. Communism isn’t “when people get paid the same”.

I don’t think that’s what communism is if I’m being honest. I think that’s a capitalist-born perspective, meant to disparage the vision of communism. Why do you think communism requires everyone to be paid the same regardless of outcome? In all honesty, that’s somewhat antithetical to some of the goals of communism, like getting rid of the pursuit and accumulation of profit for example (so business owners can’t exploit their workers)

It’s the redistribution of wealth isn’t it? I just don’t think it’s very fair if I work hard and become rich for the government to just take that away.

The government isn’t trying to take all of your stuff, you can’t get to the level of rich that you’d be an actual target by working

But, that isn’t what redistribution of wealth is? Redistribution of wealth is discussing redistributing wealth from specifically those hoarding wealth, and even more specifically from capitalists (meaning not workers who happened to make a lot of money by just working, mainly people who materially own means of production and amass wealth through those means of production (via taking the profits of the workers))

It’s mainly billionaires that’s being referenced in the modern day and age, they’re by far the primary owners of the means of production
