it is something that happens to you. the verb “assigned” describes the action taken by a doctor and/or one’s parents to assign them a sex/gender. it originates from intersex and trans activist spaces, in the case of intersex people some also use the acronym casab (coercively assigned sex at birth) to talk about the ways their body may have been forcibly medically “normalized” to “fit” into the sex binary.

Y’all can be delusional if yall want too doctors don’t just guess what gender you are it’s based on physical reality and what parts your born with if you can’t accept reality that’s what you have to deal with and live with no one else’s problem

you were assigned a sex, and that’s something that happened to you 💀 and doctors literally acknowledge it’s a guess based on one sexual characteristic, you’re just straight up wrong lmao.

gender is actually imposed on every individual by society at birth. you know bc it’s a social construct. sex ≠ gender

and doctors absolutely do just guess every babies sex. there are babies born intersex & their parts don’t match their sex chromosome. in order to truly know what your sex chromosome is you need thorough testing like karyotyping
