hey genuine question but why do some gay men do the one voice? idk how to describe it but i was just wondering if there was any reason behind it or just a for funsies kinda thing

Basically gay people were pushed away from larger communities so they developed their own. When this happens you will develop a new inner community culture and that’s passed down over time

Yes and in a similar sense some queer women also have an “accent” of sorts, its just not as noticeable because masculinity is seen as default

oh cool! thank you for pointing that out, i haven’t noticed a common accent from any of the queer women in my life before so i didn’t realize that there was one there too!! 😊

oh another thing i was wondering about this! i’ve mostly noticed it in older generations or social media while most of my queer friends that are my age or younger don’t seem to, so is there just some sort of difference in older generations than younger with it as well?
