I have a slight pet peeve of when artists draw a mlm ship but they make the “effeminate” character of the two literally one click away from being a woman while the other is drawn hyper-masculinized

No that’s fair. It’s enforcing heteronormativity into mlm relationships. When they can’t imagine anything outside of that and define relationships in the exact same way, it gets really annoying and also toxic.

Real it feels fetishy and as a gay trans guy it makes me feel like I’ll only be valid and attractive if I’m more twink-like in presentation even though I don’t even want that

Personally I love when the hyper fem boy is the dom in mlm and the real masc one is a complete sub but i rather see actual queer representation

As someone who is more traditionally masculine and also a bottom, the lack of representation of gays like me in the media makes me feel isolated and undesirable at times.

All my dudes look like they’re one click away from being a woman because I cannot draw masculine characters 😔

I feel the same way with wlw relationships when the same is done. Like we don’t need them to fit gender roles and expectations of heteronormative relationships, there are completely different dynamics these couples can have and it doesn’t have to be one is hypermasculine and the other is hyper feminine

Real, like some diversity in the relationships if fun (especially when it’s the unexpected role reversal) and obviously some mlm relationships have femboys and is just representation

Nothing wrong with that! 😊 The particular artist I’m talking about though gives me the impression that they feminize the other male character to the point of gender-bent just because it’s what’s popular and to make the ship more hetero-esque. I don’t actually think I’ve ever seen them refer to the ship art as mlm even though both characters are originally male. Which feels weird to me. :p

Or I guess I should say as a traditionally masculine guy that is sub cuz you can have sub tops and power bottoms too
