I know a few people that identify as cis but have gotten gender nullification surgery or even full bottom surgery, gender is a creature and it hates us, do whatever makes it feel comfortable

feel free to ignore this if it isnt applicable but do you think the pronoun dysphoria comes from truly not identifying with those pronouns, or from feeling like you aren’t masculine enough to use them? i am a trans man & sometimes i get dysphoria from being called he or they because i feel like an imposter if that makes sense. dysphoria is often illogical and it’s hard to navigate, but someday you’ll find yourself barely thinking about it anymore 🫶

i feel most comfortable using she/her, i've had friends try other pronouns on me and they feel really wrong in terms of my identity

i'm not sure. i experimented with pronouns and names a lot in high school but really didn't feel like myself with anything other than she/her and my given name. it's weird

some people are cis and still experience gender dysphoria. it sounds weird but it’s fairly common. my boyfriend (amab) identifies as non binary but uses a masculine name (though it isn’t his given name), he/him pronouns, and masculine terms, and he also experiences body dysphoria. it differs for everyone

ik youre joking but for anyone else who sees this, freud’s theory of penis envy is not widely accepted as being real! it (and most of his other theories) was rooted in misogyny and a misunderstanding of women’s minds
