This will probably be met with hate but I’m really disappointed by the amount of body shaming regarding pubic hair in the lesbian/wlw online community, it makes me feel so horrible about myself Idk if anyone’s seen it but it’s everywhere on twt

First off I’ve noticed that a lot of people really hate the idea of women/fem-presenting Fs choosing to shave their pubic hair? We shouldn’t shame them for having hair OR wanting to get rid of it

But even further than that there’s this really big obsession with bush that I see online, to the point of shaming people who don’t have curly pubic hair and/or can’t grow their hair out as long as what they like to call a bush. No matter what I do, my body and my appearance will always be deemed unacceptable

All this to say, if you see stuff like this PLEASE call it out, it’s so degrading

I used to shave every other day bc 1. I felt like I had to be perfectly smooth bc people said it was gross and ugly and 2. When it got to a certain length it bothered me texturally. But then I met my gf and she’s chill with whatever I’m comfortable with but prefers a bit of hair so I started to just let it grow. It got past the middle length that caused texture issues and now it makes me feel more feminine and I’m happier with my body. All of that to say I think this ew you shave rhetoric comes

From how hard people pushed that women had to have no body hair. And while I agree that it’s weird to think women shouldn’t have any body hair, I also think it’s weird and also damaging to women’s body image to say it’s weird and gross to shave. It’s your body. Do what makes you happy, healthy, and comfortable 🤷‍♀️

Exactly, instead of pushing things in the opposite direction we should just be accepting of people regardless of what they want to do with their bodies, I hate body shaming of any kind
