I was raised Catholic and am now still trying to navigate my faith because I choose to live by the belief that God loves everyone and not the bigoted warping of the Bible to be used against everyone who’s different… it just sucks because I’m just as scared to say I’m queer in a religious space and I am to say I’m religious in a queer space.
I’m sorry you experience this, I’m not religious myself so I don’t fully understand how you feel but the impact of spreading true, authentic love and compassion while still maintaining your faith and using it for good has such a beautiful effect. I hope in the future, it’s not scary and something you can be proud of openly without scrutiny.
