The new law also applies to birth certificates, by the way. So if you have a birth certificate with the “wrong” gender on it, it is no longer valid, meaning you can’t use as proof of ID to replace your (also invalid) drivers license. They’ve left hundreds of Kansans with no state ID documents and no clear way to replace the old ones.

This affects trans people being able to vote. Also, the punishment for driving with an invalid license is prison time, where they can be forcefully detransitioned.

And this is why we need to protest. Issues like this should not exist and should not be allowed to exist in any nation. The fact that human beings are good with dehumanizing other humans for being different is straight up Orwellian. These issues make me want to self-delete myself as there doesn't seem to be much of a light at the end of all of this.
