It’s inherently a form of misogyny! They can’t fathom that someone would not be attracted to men/would be attracted to women. It’s also tied to the idea that being gay is a choice. Why would you choose to be attracted to women, when men are the dominant, attractive, providers? For straight women, it’s an internalized form of misogyny.
