Dude I’ve been called a freak and told I’ll never find someone and I’ll die lonely and alone because I won’t have sex with people

Also by this metric bi people in hetero looking relationships are just straight and aren’t queer because they can hold hands

But they can hold hands, and don’t get attacked in public. They’re not visibly bi. So by the same metric you think they’re not queer. I’m just using your logic!

Hey so queer identity is not the oppression Olympics. We do not define whether or not someone is in the community by how shitty their life is. It’s about deviating from heteronormative and cis normative societal standards. Ace people deviate from those societal standards, they relate to the experience of being othered because of their sexuality and identity. No one is saying Ace people are “more oppressed” than you. We’re saying they have a place in this community.

being asexual is not at all the same and its actually nasty to compare it. our rights are being stripped. idk if im gonna be able to get married one day or i’ll be allowed to have a child. but you don’t feel sexual attraction. bisexual people deal with homophobia. it’s awful that asexual people get treated differently but it is not the same.

Nobody said ace’s people’s struggles are exactly the same or exactly as bad as yours are. Thats not what this is about. We don’t define queerness by how much suffering you’ve endured.

if you are straight and cis you are not queer. if you are only attracted to the opposite gender you are not queer (in terms of sexuality) even if you dont experience sexual/romantic attraction

people used to (and still do) say this about trans people. they’re called LGB. you are using the EXACT same rhetoric. reflect on what you’re saying for fuck’s sake.

What’s nasty is trying to police identities and experiences YOU don’t understand. Ave people are still queer, fuck off.
