Just fyi this is a myth made up by a blogger and repeated since - LGBT only took over from GLBT in the 2000s. Doesn’t take away from the selfless care and solidarity tho!

I’m in the disney college program and had the privilege of listening to Paige O’Hara (the actress of Belle from Beauty and the Beast) talk about being coached by Howard Ashman. She also said that the cut song “Human Again” was about how Howard saw himself as the Beast and wanted to live a normal life again
