and how does it provide you safety? Because you conform to gender expectations. Which there is literally nothing wrong with wanting to pass, but if people weren't transphobic, a lot of people would care about passing less. So wanting to pass for safety is literally conforming for safety.

Transphobes didnt tell trans people to pass or die. They told us to die whether we “pass” or not so trans people prioritized passing to avoid transphobes. Its a tactic of resistance. Gender expectations are what its deeply vested in yes but you don’t call a guy who shoots a robber a murderer. Its a tactic of self defense.

I mean it is about conformity and safety. Those aren’t mutually exclusive. Also I do agree with the OP that calling other trans people “trenders” and insulting us for not passing is absolutely not promoting safety
