I've heard some drugs (usually/especially hallucinogens ig?) kinda "open your mind" to things in a way that might track w/ that? Like I've heard of people getting high & then having a total 180 on their attitude abt a chronic life issue or similar. Maybe that would be a manifestation of that...?
