
I do think we need to talk more about the unique struggles of trans men, because they face some of the issues that women do (medical discrimination especially, but poor treatment from family on the basis of sex often remains) with the assumption that there is no shared ground between them and women/femme presenting individuals, which makes it harder to get help and support when dealing with those issues.
Also though, this stuff shouldn't be brought up only to negate a point about the safety of women. It's like the same thing with male survivors of SA--they exist outside of a rebuttal, and only bringing them up to prove someone wrong ('yeah, well, men get assaulted too!') or play devil's advocate is shitty
