hot take but if trans women aren’t allowed in “women’s spaces” i don’t think heterosexual cis women should be allowed in queer spaces. No gay bars, no pride, no nothing🤷🏼‍♀️

i saw a straight girl complaining on girltalk that there was a straight man at the gay bar 😭 the tone deafness was crazy

well. trans women belong in women’s spaces, and cishets don’t belong in queer spaces. so no. not a hot take. just weird.

i don’t really think it’s weird when basically every gay bar is 80% straight women at this point

it’s not a weird take to say cishets don’t belong in queer spaces, that’s common sense. it is weird to be like “well you exclude trans women out of spaces they belong in, so you can’t come invade our space.” cishets wouldn’t belong in queer spaces even if they were accepting of trans women in women’s spaces.

I said “it’s fine for cishet women to go to the gay bar with friends, but going on their own to a queer space as a straight person is a misuse.” she got upset about it and took it personally so I assumed she was a straight woman. then she did a “gotcha!” by revealing she was actually sapphic and just defending her cishet friends who went with her… idk why she took it personally when it wasn’t even about her or her friends 😭 but whatever

hate ti say it but i think they should be welcome in queer spaces. not bc im a fan of straight women in gay bars getting mad about lesbians or straight men harassing queer women while getting mad about gay men, but bc a lot of us were "allies" before we came out, some ppl may want their friend there, etc. ppl shouldnt have to disclose their identity at the door, just treat others w respect and be open about what youre looking for. intolerance and predatory behavior is the issue, not straight ppl

allies are welcome but abusing that welcome is where the problem lies.

dont say this to really disagree w/ you, just to add the asterisk of straight ppl vs Straight People. saying "straight women in bars who just want a gay best friend but are homophobic and entitled" is too long to say every time so i lot us just say "straight women" and we all kinda know whats up, but we gotta remember that its not that they give off a genetically inherited evil straight aura or anything, its their behavior

btw 1. i wrote that 2nd comment before #4s reply loaded on my screen, so that wasnt a response to them, just continuing the original thought 2. in case its not clear, when i said "want their friend there" i dont mean "want their homophobic asshole there", i mean more of a "queer person brings their friend (who happens to be straight) bc they dont want to go alone (which can be dangerous), esp if they havent been to a gay bar/pride/ect before" energy
