This is supposed to be a safe space for all queer identities, and the biphobia is absolutely needless. I’ve seen bi people in other yikyaks say they no longer feel comfortable here. If you have a stereotype about ANYONE, that’s on you to unpack.

whats crazy is that #1 seems to have this weird vendetta against bisexuals. its honestly just so incredibly sad and pathetic. Like its genuinely just them driving all the recent bullshit on here

Wildly hated if you’re chronically online maybe. Go touch grass, go to a gay bar. this shit does not happen in real life. bisexuals and the the rest of the lgBt community get along amazingly

I have also seen in other yikyaks that lesbians don’t feel comfortable posting in here bc they get biphobia allegations for anything and everything, maybe the issue is bigger than just biphobia

oh 100% op, that was just more of an example of how nobody irl actually gives a fuck about people like #1. the problem a lot of the time is that online the ability to have your real self and screen set seperated causes the loud hateful people to be a lot more amplified. just block them. you will find that the more you block them the more you find people who are chill.

#6 refer to my other comment adressing what op replied with. im also specifically talking about queer spaces irl, in which these loudly biphobic people are mostly shamed and excluded from

Self important? nah im literally a lesbian. It was capitalized for a reason. and that reason was to remind you that the letter B in lgbt is because lesbians are part of the community. Its called a gay bar because colloquially being lgbt is called gay.

bisexuals don’t feel comfortable anywhere because of the giant victim complexes they develop long before they ever leave the closet (if they even do) i genuinely couldn’t give less of a FUCK that i or anyone else has made them uncomfortable, because they were gonna do that anyway! it’s really not hard.

There’s not a lot of queer spaces in my community for those under 21 when it’s not pride month. I understand it is just online that this occurs, but online spaces are important resources for younger queer folks.

That’s why it is important to bring up that trolls attack trans ppl in this group, lesbians in this group, and also aroace ppl in this group. This is not a biphobia specific issue

you say this as if the people being loudly biphobic online do not also exist In Real Life. those are all real human beings expressing real bigotry, homie. it’s alienating to experience in any context whether you have in-person community or not

younger queer folks for sure, but also people who live in rural areas, people who can’t live their lives freely due to depending on overbearing & hateful family, people like me whose ability to participate in public social life is very limited due to chronic illness / physical disability…

I never said that other queer identities don’t experience this issue. I myself am trans and bisexual, and it is an intersectional issue. However, in this community the hatred seems most directed toward bi people from what I’ve seen.

Also I don’t believe when an issue is addressed in a short-form post it can include that much detail. I focused on one issue, and that is in no way inherently denying that other issues exist.

It comes and goes in phases, a few weeks ago it was lesbians and before that it was ace people. It cycles, I have been in this community for a while and just bi people are experiencing more this week but who knows what next week will bring. I’m bringing this up bc I’m hoping next time it happens more of the people that are batting for bisexuals will come and batt for the rest of the community
