like not to be The Woker but i just really do not think it's particularly amusing to stereotype trans women as beautiful goddesses and trans men as immature or uncool or "just some guy". i don't think that's funny. i know trans guys whose self esteem has been genuinely damaged by it. if i were about 3 years younger it'd probably make me really hurt and insecure. trans men deserve to be acknowledged as competent adults with the potential to be sexually attractive if that's something they want.
Lowkey I get this. I always feel so insecure about not being a conventionally attractive male (even though I’m confident in who I am and live life stealth), and trends like this always rub me the wrong way. Like I like the funny cute ones! But it feels like every fucking trend on transness is trans women are gorgeous trans men are ugly (or like cute?? Never hot????)
I think it's be of how society infantilizes women with small boobs so for those who still don't see trans men "real men", they'll only accept them if they're also infantilized and don't present with more masculine traits (bc no boobs is adjacent to less boobs) idk if this makes sense ??
i'm guessing you're talking specifically about the ones in the trans yikyak in the past like day which aren't really the ones that upset me tbh? i mean i saw one with fix-it-felix and sergeant calhoun that was irritating because there's a very clear gap in how cartoonish/serious the characters are, but this post was just a general complaint about a ton of memes i've seen over the past like month lol not a ton of specific characters are coming to mind
like if i can remember other specific characters i've seen i'll list them lol but i was complaining more about a pattern i've seen with a bunch of different characters than about like any particular one. the child one was about a meme i saw a few weeks ago with dipper pines and a female character i can't remember (not someone from gravity falls, definitely an adult woman). and i get that he's a popular transmasc headcanon but like. he's also 12. (11? 13? haven't watched gf in a while)
already said in another comment those weren't what i was talking about 👍 with the exception of fix-it-felix because even though he is canonically supposed to be an attractive adult there's a clear visual difference between his design and sergeant calhoun's in terms of how attractive the character is intended to be to viewers
