it's because they think femininity is inherently degrading. women are there to be degraded so thinks that they associate with women are, by extension, also humiliating. that's also why people who don't conform to gender roles are so threatening, because they can't be shamed in the "usual" ways

Oh yeah 1000% this. I mean I’ve already been all too aware that homophobia works in two ways. First, being misogyny with the degradation and conquest of anything perceived as feminine. Secondly, it is the religious condemnation where non-procreative sex as well as anything feminine is less virtuous

If religious k-8 education taught me anything, it was the logic of homophobia. If the other guys in public high school taught me anything, it was the intuition of homophobia
