the trans community online is definitely very “stereotyped” and has a lot of like mimetic things to it, but queer spaces are very chill and open in person :))

The more “aesthetic” elements of queer spaces tend to get really amplified so i feel you, it’s hard to find a way to relate to queer-centric online spaces in particular especially as a trans guy 😭

dude i completely get this and im literally an entomologist. I will say it gets better as you get older and surround yourself with people who have been transitioned for longer and have had time to develop their interests and identity as a man

as a lesbian i NEVER feel like i belong in queer spaces because i don’t fit a stereotype and i don’t have the same interests as everyone else. i’m a really liberal person and i’m nonbinary, but somehow I’m not being queer “correctly” (especially because i’m ace). I love my queer friends, but they tend to avoid officially queer spaces too for similar reasons - it just can feel very immature or cliquey. i’m so glad i have queer friends that i can be myself around now
