I let my dad know my mom has cancer and a week later he decided to call me to ask 1. "if her cancer was caused by the covid vaccine?" 2. "a mastectomy is unnecessary she should just do chemo" dumbest man I've ever met, thank god they're divorced

No it’s insane what people say to you in relation to ailments. Someone told me my cancer was probably caused by my microwave use. Smile and nod, just smile and nod

Chemo literally destroys people. That second statement to me is just so insane.

I think it's more of a not believing in medicine or not believing me about how serious it is. they haven't seen each other in like a decade either, so idk what's going through his head gross either way though

Stage 2a for me - simple lumpectomy with 35 reds because my “Onco score” was low! Hoping the same for ur mom… 10 years cancer free this month! Yippee! Just be there. Period. Flowers are nice

thank you all for sharing. my mom has survived three separate forms of breast cancer. she kept a potted plant she originally gifted her terminally ill father in our home for over twenty-five years!

let’s be supportive and not critical of the person whose mom has cancer

Then you’d figure you’d be a little more empathetic no? Does it really matter whether or not it’s “on topic”??

LGBT spaces aren’t just for talking about being gay… these are historically non judgemental safe spaces. This person was sharing something vulnerable and they should have the right to do. Next time just scroll past, not saying anything is free
