I’m cis but I thought I was nonbinary for a few years bc I hated my relationship with gender and how it related to my sexuality. Turns out I hated being perceived as a woman to men bc I felt like they only ever saw me as a sexual object. Now that I know I’m a masc lesbian, I feel so connected to my gender and womanhood

Literally I’ve never met a woman who has not struggled with the concept of being a woman and how that changes the way you are treated by society, and that’s something that is very deeply impactful for all of us, and saying “cis women don’t understand gender bc they don’t need to think about it” is either a privileged or under educated/informed take

Lots of trans people think their struggle with gender is unique to trans people tbh. When gender as a concept is something every person, cis or trans, considers at one point in their life. That post just seemed off to me

i’m a cis woman but i’ve always struggled with how i was perceived. Especially growing up mormon i was hyper aware of trad gender roles and i hated them with a passion. Being told your divine nature is basically just to make babies and be a wife pissed me off. Saying cis people are incapable of thinking about gender complexities is wayy oversimplifying. I’ve always gone against the grain in what a “woman” should be. We queer folk should work as a team, not trying to tear each other down <3
