had a trans woman tell me recently that I (transfem NB) can’t have AGAB weaponized against me since I wasn’t trans… idk how anyone says that when “theyfab” is a term 💀

As a nonbinary individual, someone explain how it automatically makes you trans please

well they say it because they think their struggle is inherently worse than everyone else’s (because they’re miserable) but still a wild thing to hear

trans - not identifying with one’s assigned gender at birth. last i checked, no one’s getting assigned nonbinary at birth.

I wanna note I'm not asking rudely, I was just confused because I thought they were separate

going to be honest, no clue how you came to that conclusion as a nonbinary person.

Because they're always used separately ...? Usually when I hear about trans individuals they're mtf or ftm, and if they're NB they refer to themselves as that and not trans

some individual non-binary people (or those of other identities) may not identify as trans, but it’s under the trans umbrella & it’s normal to think a non-binary person sees themself as trans

transitioning just means going to a different gender than yoyr AGAB, and non-binary genders are different from one’s AGAB

Alright, thank you for explaining (and without criticizing me for being confused)

it sounds like you need to spend more time in queer, trans, and nonbinary spaces. they’re absolutely not “always used separately.”

i answered your question. sorry for being upset about someone in my own community questioning the place of nonbinary people in the trans community when, get this, the original fucking post is about getting my feelings hurt by people who do that.
