tbh I’m pretty sure the reason you’re getting downvoted is because the implication is extremely vague. “you people spend too much time online” tells us nothing about what your actual frustration is, that leaves a lot of room for misinterpretation

fair point #1, this is specifically for folks who hate on others because of their identity

your right having he/him pronouns doesn’t make you a lesbian. just like having she/her pronouns doesn’t either. pronouns and sexuality are different things and arnt related. glad we could reach that understanding

that’s not “chronically online” lmao, Judith Butler was out here writing widely-read academic theory about this kind of thing back in like 1990

OP is allowed to tell you to fuck off when you publicly comment some goofy shit, that’s kinda how it works

Butler wrote that nobody can be a gender before doing gendered acts imo calling yourself he/him is indeed a gender act just like how calling myself she/hers is a gender act

you really just googled “Judith Butler quotes” in an attempt to feign familiarity with their work 💀 considering that they’re a lesbian who uses they/them pronouns, your misinterpretation of this fragment doesn’t have a leg to stand on

but even more than that, your refusal to take other people’s self-described gender at face value kinda just renders the rest of your perspective on queer issues in general as questionable at best

how doesn’t it help? it’s what they wrote i looked it up to familiarize myself because im not old i wasn’t born back then 🤣🤣but if its something they literally wrote word for word about gendered acts and i said IMO how’s its wrong? dummy

🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️he/him does not make you a lesbian that’s going to keep allowing cis guys to continue laughing saying they’re lesbians cause they’re he/hims who like women

Anonymous replying to -> OP 6d

nope but i am a lesbian because i am a she/her who also likes she/hers which doesn’t work with he/hims

you're wrong because theory is written to convey meaning and your misinterpretation misses the meaning of that line entirely lol. you're just trying to force a conclusion with zero functional context because you want to "win" an argument. it's also really sad that you think only old people would have reason to be familiar with highly influential queer theory-is that why you sound like you're in high school? refusal to engage with any writing older than you?
