Fact: this is a paid bot by the US government meant to sow discontent and allow complacency in the wrongs being committed by the US government. Dont let it trick you.

I don’t doubt it I’m actually interested in learning more about them. Where are they what do they usually do etc

Theyre mostly on these bigger subs like popbase and lgbtq, rather than the school communities. Generally they come in around the time a big political or social event happens and its hard to prove they exist but lots of times youll see copy pastas of the same exact text.

True i have seen copy pastas. I just didn’t put them past normal dummies. Does yikyak have an api or web interface at all? Is there a practical way for bots to physically interface with the app?

There really isn’t. People like OP are just making assumptions

My “There really isn’t” was in reference to 1’s question about a practical way for bots to physically interface. Sorry if that wasn’t clear

Well thats what i said in my og response. Its hard to prove. But there are instances of obvious examples.

Can you provide them?

Probably not considering most of the posts are deleted. But is it that hard to believe bots exist on this platform when plenty examples exist on other platforms?

Yikyak does not function like other platforms. It would be very difficult and more work than it’s worth to bot it

Can you provide some examples you remember?

That’s what I’m thinking. If they can easily bot it they will but i don’t see how they would

Absolutely. During the election, i often remember seeing the same copy pasta being sent out en masse in the popbase. Oftentimes they had to do with israel. Its mostly pink washing trying to get people to ignore israels actions, but i saw around 3 or 4 of the exact same copy pasta posted within a few minutes of each other. Could they have been the same person? Maybe. But i find it really convenient that this happens everytime something political happens.

it’s definitely possible that there’s bots, but yik yak doesn’t seem like it would be that effective for propaganda and we know *for sure* that there’s a good number of trolls who like posting gotcha political bs. I would generally assume annoying human over government robot without more info
