idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not but being polyamorous is a sexual orientation not a choice. pursuing open relationships/polycules is a choice but literally being attracted to multiple people simultaneously isn't a choice any more than being gay

i fully believe monogamy and polyamory are a spectrum just like homo/heterosexuality, and everyone falls somewhere on it. that doesn't mean everyone identifies as poly or wants a poly relationship, they may feel more comfortable in a monogamous relationship but be somewhere on that spectrum if that makes sense. idk i'd love to see someone study this
