just a reminder that being in a straight-passing relationship doesn’t make you straight! - a bi woman with a bf :)

It doesn’t but it definitely does give you access to the privileges allowed to cishet couples

tbh as someone who has dated men and women, i didn’t think the privileges were THAT different, but that was my experience so idk

A big part of privilege is being able to go through life without having to think about those kinds of things so you kinda proved my point

Just let people love who they love

Just because they have privilege DOES NOT change the fact that they are queer

The fact you were downvoted is insane given how everyone in this community has been demonized for loving someone.

Not what I’m saying I even said they were queer in my first message so maybe read before you make accusations. I’m saying they have privilege and they should be able to acknowledge that without victimizing themselves

no one is victimizing themselves here? i’m just sick of my sexuality being invalidated because i’m not currently dating a woman. that’s all

No one is doing that except you, you’re just obsessed with being a victim

i’ve been told i’m “not gay anymore” bc i’m dating a man, and my sexuality is part of my identity so it’s important to me. did you get your heart broken by a bi person? is that why you’re so salty?

I think they’re trying to say that you have more privilege out in public than others. There have been times lesbian couples, gay couples, trans couples etc. have been beaten or harassed in public in a way that a straight passing relationship will not typically get.

I don’t think it’s necessarily an insult either! Sure your sexuality and such is important to you as it should be and discrimination towards all parties should be discussed, but in the end strangers have no idea you are bisexual. They just see a woman and a man together and that’s that. Very close-minded, but what can you do.

LOLLL That’s so real honestly because you really never know! Assuming people are straight is sooooo overrated 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ very glad it’s never happened to you as well! It’s so sad and disgusting of people to do 🫩🫩 they gain literally nothing and still decide to hate
