
it's the kind of thing where there will ALWAYS be exceptions (either romantic couples who don't conform to xyz or non romantic pairs who do xyz) - generally, it's a desired closeness more than a friend (physically and emotionally), going on romantic dates, flirting, physical affection (kissing, holding hands, cuddling), and will just feel like a different relationship than a friendship (like family vs friend, etc)
a lot of my asexual friends compare it to being your other half. They're like your go to person and you want to spend a ton of time with them and make them better and see them happy and you want to be a huge part of their lives too. Two of my friends def struggle with knowing and so they've kind of opted for a polyamorous queer platonic vibe to relationships which works really well for them and solved a lot of their issues
