the person it’s for is a huge ally and the only one in our group who’s bday is during pride month, the tradition started cause a base cake we happened to buy for his bday one year had a rainbow on it and so we thought it’d be fun to make it an annual thing, celebrating gays and our friend all at once 🙂

First off, twisting my words will truly get you nowhere other than make you look like an idiot, especially using the word “hate” not knowing my stance. I’m saying this as a gay man. My stance is that gay or not, you don’t know what his true sexuality is. He could be battling something inside, and you have no clue. Me saying you should be respectful makes me hateful? Also, based on OP’s explanation, it makes sense. It seemed as if OP meant it in a mean/bullying way to their friend without context

I agree the design of the cake itself is a little lacking in creativity, but it’s ok, I bet it’s still tasty!

i feel like it’s not that serious lmao. buying someone a rainbow cake isn’t disrespectful. + it’s their bday. + it’s a pretty cake. + if they didn’t like it, they’d probably tell OP and OP would stop buying them rainbow cakes. sorry i jumped to conclusions! i misread your comment.

every time i just fully leave the design up to the baker! i go to them tell them i want a gay ass cake but leave all the detail with design and all that up to them, after last years i agree that this one wasn’t as good lmao, last year the baker was younger and definitely got the vibe better
