So you haven't seen the critically acclaimed show that was generally considered by Igbt+ fans to be good representation, directed by a gay man and HIV survivor, based on a book by the wife of a bi man, and you've somehow decided that the writing is flimsy based on... not watching it? Boiling heated rivalry down to just sex without even having seen it feels rooted in some homophobia tbh

Like yes, there are a lot of crazy cis het women fans who made things very fetishy, and enjoyed it only for the sex scenes. However, crazy fans do not reflect on the actual content of the show, nor do they overwrite how meaningful this show was for so many queer people
