I’m a trans man. Do I identify as a lesbian? No. Do I care if other people do? No not really. It’s all just made up anyways and online discourse within the queer community isn’t worth it and just takes our attention away from the actual fight we need to be fighting

I can get behind transmasc lesbians or even lesbians who use he pronouns… but trans MEN who use EXCLUSIVELY HE/HIM… how can you be a lesbian? I get that identity is all made up but it’s still harmful to the lesbian community

A lot of us are pursuing a difficult degree, I have a calc exam soon, I don’t give a bears girating ass if someone has found an identity they reside with, regardless of if it’s common or uncommon. Your trans man lesbian, cool, you’re a gay trans woman, cool, you’re happy and I got bigger problems!

I’m a trans man who identifies as a lesbian to some extent. A lot of it is being socialized as a girl and wanting to date queer women. It doesn’t really matter. Right now is not the time for infighting.

Im a lesbian. Would i date a trans man lesbian? No. But do i really care anymore? No. Its not worth it to tell people what they are or who they cant be.

Men cannot be lesbians. It’s one of the only terms to by definition exclude men, and cannot be stretched to include trans men who, for whatever reason, can’t accept they’re just straight. Tumblr folk can yadda yadda about unique relationships to relationships with women til the cows come home, but at the end of the day a man exclusively attracted to women is straight.

I understand how it fundamentally doesn’t make sense, and I agree with that. If (as we should all feel) a trans man is a man, then being attracted to women makes him straight by definition, and claiming otherwise undermines his gender identity to a degree. If he were to use a different term, that is mislabeling fs. However, how is this actually harmful to the lesbian community? I’m not trying to be argumentative, simply trying to fully understand.

Men do not belong in lesbian spaces, that’s the harm. Transmascs, sure, non binary people can be lesbian. But binary trans men cannot be lesbian and should not be in lesbian spaces.
