I was a huge enjoyer of Harry Potter. Then JK Rowling started doing all of this. I looked into what she was saying and was grossed out. The next time I tried to reread the books, I got the ick thinking about how awful she is for the queer community. Haven’t read the books since.

I loved Harry Potter growing up. If JK just shut her mouth, I’d probably still like it today. But there’s no way I can enjoy it now, knowing that it built a fortune that is being used for trans genocide. If it disgusts me so much that I have no desire to enjoy the IP anymore, why doesn’t it disgust YOU that much? (asked to anyone who still engages with the IP)

kind of funny because I was super into harry potter as a kid but now any nostalgia I feel towards it is purely directed towards fan fictions I read when I was like twelve lol. like those made a much more lasting impact then any of the actual books
