one of my intro discussion boards for a class last semester asked about identity and community and shit and i was like "i'm a transmasc nonbinary neurodivergent individual blah blah" and everyone else was like "i'm a god fearing christian veteran god bless america" and i was like oop 🤭
Or like I used to hate when they’d ask us to share our identities if we’re comfortable and then hella people would say their sexuality while I was actively living in the closet to some people on campus and out to others bc I was still exploring and not knowing whether to honest or private
Fr. I'm in comp sci and our prof pulled up the name list with everyone's pronouns listed (which is so niche in the system that normally only professors look at it) for assigning groups. I know college is supposed to be a save space but oh boy did my heart rate go up at having my pronouns slammed in front of everyone like that. Computer science is already not exactly the most supportive environment for female looking ppl at times. Don't need the extra layer of "they are different" broadcasted
I’m afab she/they so I like to think of myself as a test run for teachers, like if you can’t handle me at least I can warn my friends because it would be way worse for them (luckily tho I’m at a school that has resources for changing your name and pronouns in the system and no teacher has been blatantly bigoted so rare plus for my college)
