After I got fired from my job for being gay (which I can’t prove) I was so desperate that I stole my friends phone and sold it so I could pay my rent. My friend still refuses to talk to me despite the extenuating circumstances. And had me arrested.

there’s got to be at least 20 better ways to scrape together money than that, even disregarding it being an obvious attack on the stability of your friendship. I wouldn’t talk to you again either.

exactly, or one of those cash advance things, or just asking your friend if they can loan you some cash, or anything else besides hurriedly selling a used phone that isn’t yours. how does theft seem more reasonable than selling whatever phone they typed this on?
