this probably sounds stupid but i have a question and i have no experience or knowledge about this whatsoever,but are furry's or therian's apart of the LGBTQ+ community? cause i've seen different opinions about this online and now i'm genuinely curious...

Being a furry doesn’t make you LGBTQ+ necessarily. However, most furries are anyway. Therian I don’t know for sure, but I think it’s the same situation

I’m both a furry and a therian, and I would say solidly no, but! the nuance is that there Are tons and tons of LGBTQ+ people in both the furry scene and therian communities, to the extent that there are sub-communities (within both) which are near-exclusively LGBTQ+, so I think that’s the main reason why you may see those identities / scenes conflated with The Acronym

Furries are not part of the LGBTQIA+ but there’s a lot of overlap bc most furries are in the community themselves

and for instance some (not all!) trans therians experience therianthropy in a way where they parse it as similar to their own experience of transness, or where like, in some sense their gender identity and their therianthropy feel intertwined. probably the best-known example would be “catgirl” or “puppygirl”, which can be a therian Or furry (or petplay tbh) term
