they/them and as everyone in my house except me is sick right now and I'm the only one up to date on their vaccines... but it's incredibly unfair that Henrietta Lacks was not given a chance to give consent or receive adequate compensation & social credit for the use of her cells that ended up being used to develop vaccines for over half a century

Lewis Howard Latimer invented and patented a process for making the carbon filaments for lightbulbs, which made them more affordable and widespread :) there’s lots of cool articles on it but that’s the gist of it
