as a trans guy my least favorite micro aggression that cis people don't see an issue with is CONSTANTLY being told how young i look, and having people joke that i look like i'm 13. like haha. okay. haha. haha.

to this person & anyone else wondering this. it's a micro aggression bc i only look young since i'm trans, & it's often ppl who know i'm trans who are saying ts. like bro i don't actually think it's funny to talk about how i'm short and i look young. can we think of a reason i don't like that? (spoiler cuz im trans)

people do this infantilizing shit constantly to a lot of trans guys who are ADULTS. so yes, it’s a microaggression when people intentionally and consistently say trans men look like children.

how is it not a dig to be like "lol you look so young like if i didnt know i would have thought you were like 14" it doesnt really matter what you call it, it's obviously an insult and if you act like its not then youre being deliberately obtuse

this fr. and like listen, its annoying no matter what, but if someone is just like "oh i thought you were a lot younger! wow you have great genes, thats a real blessing" i don't usually have too much of an issue, i just laugh it off and agree. but when its people who know me and know i'm trans and they always decide to poke fun at the fact that i "look like i'm 12" and how i'm short (5'6" so it could be worse) i'm just like. haha. yeah. those are like. my insecurities.

like i get that sometimes people just say things without realizing its an insecurity of the person theyre talking to so i don't hold it against someone i just met. but when you KNOW ME and KNOW IM TRANS and i've TALKED ABOUT how people think i look younger and its annoying... maybe we don't need to bring it up and joke abt it all the time????
